Fall Birding in Texas
Wednesday September 17, 2008
Spring is the best known time for birding in Texas. However, as the year's first cold fronts make their way through the Lone Star State, an amazing amount of birds begin riding the northerly winds south to Texas, where they will spend the winter months, offering birders an excellent opportunity to view a wide array of species. Of course, the cooler temperatures also make spending long hours searching for birds much more pleasant for the birders. And, with 2008 already having seen its first front, fall birding activity should be in full swing soon.
