2008 Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival

Over the past decade, Texas’ Rio Grande Valley has become recognized as one of the top birding destinations in the United States. Thanks largely to its subtropical climate, this border region is the seasonal home to hundreds of avian species. During this same time, the Rio Grande Valley has also become home to one of Texas' most popular birding events - the Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival, which is held each year in Harlingen. Seminars and field trips are mainstays at the RGV Birding Fest. The 2008 event, which is set for Nov. 5-9, has plenty of each on the schedule. READ MORE
