Brazos Bend State Park Photo Gallery

Monday July 13, 2009
Located a short distance south of Houston, Brazos Bend State Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, but is noted for its large population of American alligators. Given its close proximity to Houston, Brazos Bend State Park is an excellent location for visitors and residents of the Bayou City to get out in nature for a day or just an afternoon. my family and I went to this park 2 days ago, the staff was very friendly, helpful, and the park was VERY clean and well kept, we tent camp and it was fun to have the raccoons come to our site and wonder around, i guess you can say we made new friends, there were dear, armadillos, and not to forget the alligators, the hiking was lots of fun we have never done that but i have to say we WILL be going back for the hiking, the animals and the friendly people, but one thing i must say my MAIN reason for us going was TO FISH which was impossible because of the alligators they kept us from fishing, the vegetation in all but one of the lakes was REALLY BAD but like i said the alligators did not help in that ONE lake and there was no place to have a swim which would of been GREAT!! because we all know how the heat in TX is like, to camp there you can take your own plastic pool, your food, and don’t forget THE FAN because i tell you it is hot, but only if they could built a BIG POOL, clear out ALL of that vegetation in all the lakes and maybe if possible keep small areas clear fo alligators it could be the best and closest park in HOUSTON. will I go again?? YES not to stay but just for the hiking, will stay till the clear you the vegitation amd build somethig to get wet in.
