South Padre Island Restaurants

By Danno Wise, About.com

Without a doubt, the white sand beaches and green Gulf waters are what bring visitors to South Padre Island and the 'Texas Tropics.' However, while vacationing on the southernmost beach in the Lone Star State, visitors have plenty of dining options as South Padre Island and nearby Port Isabel offer a wide variety of restaurants.

1. Sea Ranch

Good service and excellent seafood have made the Sea Ranch Restaurant a favorite among South Padre Island visitors.

2. Amberjack's

Located right on the Laguna Madre bay, Amberjack's offers excellent seafood and a breathtaking view of the sunset each evening.

3. Pirate's Landing

Located just across the bay from South Padre Island in the quaint, historic town of Port Isabel, Pirate's Landing Restaurant offers great food and a great waterfront view. During the summer months, Pirate's Landing also affords an excellent vantage point to watch the Friday night fireworks over the bay.

4. Scampi's

Scampi's restaurant is best known for its extensive wine list - over 200 wines - and its breathtaking views of sunsets over the bay.

5. Louie's Backyard

South Padre's premier nightclub is more than just a Spring Break bar. Louie's Backyard offers year around live entertainment as well as a fabulous seafood buffet.

6. Pelican Station

Located on the shores of the Laguna Madre in historic Port Isabel, Pelican Station offers seafood, steaks and sandwiches, as well as a wonderful view of the bay and South Padre Island.
