San Antonio Zoo Overview:

One of the largest zoos in the nation, the San Antonio Zoo houses over 3,500 animals, making it a must see for kids and adults alike. Animals such as the spectacled bear, rhinoceros, giraffe, Sumataran tiger, kangaroo, ocelot, elephant, and dozens of varieties of birds and reptiles give visitors plenty to look at. These animals are contained within nearly a dozen naturalistic exhibits. Visitors also have the options of taking the Zoo Train for a tour of the zoo grounds.

San Antonio Zoo Visitor Information:

The San Antonio Zoo is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. all 365 days of the year. Although the gates close at 5 p.m., guests are allowed to stay inside the zoo until 6 p.m. Admission is: Adults - $10.75; Seniors - $8; Children (3-11) - $8; Children under 2 - Free; Handicapped (3-14) - $5.25; Handicapped (15 & over) - $7.
