The success of the SPI park led Schlitterbahn to develop yet another beach park. The result is the newly opened Schlitterbahn Galveston Island, which is being billed as the world’s first ‘convertible waterpark.’ Due its ‘convertible’ nature, Schlitterbahn Galveston Island is a year around attraction. The entire park is open during the summer season, which is April through September. When the weather cools, the Wasserfest Indoor Waterpark opens for the fall and winter season (October through March). As is the case with each of their waterparks, Schlitterbahn has filled the Galveston Island location with tons of unique and innovative rides, making it a perfect spot to stay cool in the summer – or winter.
