Corpus Christi is one of the most popular vacation destinations on the Gulf Coast. Besides miles of beautiful beaches, Corpus is home to a number of interesting attractions.

1. Texas State Aquarium

The "official" aquarium of Texas, the Texas State Aquarium houses hundreds of marine animals and provides educational programs for visitors of all ages.

2. USS Lexington

The Lex Battleship and Museum
Following many years of "active duty," the WWII-era USS Lexington "retired" to Corpus Christi. The Lexington now serves as a floating museum and even offers overnight stays!

3. Corpus Christi Marina

The Corpus Christi Marina houses a large number of sailboats and recreational watercraft. Taking a stroll along one of the Marina's three t-head piers makes for a pleasant diversion - not to mention grabbing a bite to eat at one of the fine restaurants at the end of the piers.

4. Padre Island National Seashore

Padre Island National Seashore stretches from Corpus Christi south some 75 miles to the Port Mansfield Cut - offering some of the most remote seashore to be found anywhere. Additionally, Padre Island National Seashore is a nesting ground for endangered sea turtles.

5. Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History

The Corpus Christi Museum of History and Science has an impressive display of natural and cultural historical objects on display. In addition, the museum has a wonder marine artificact display. All of this is packaged together with a special emphasis on South Texas.

6. Water Street Market

Located in the heart of downtown Corpus Christi, Water Street Market is full of unique shops and restaurants, many of which offer breathtaking views of Corpus Christi Bay.

7. The Harbor Playhouse

The Harbor Playhouse has been providing Corpus Christi with high quality theatrical productions since 1925. Today, the historic playhouse features a diverse schedule of contemporary and classic musicals, non-musicals, and children’s plays.

8. Selena Museum

Corpus Christi's Selena Museum, built by the singer's father, displays outfits and costumes worn by the late-pop superstar as well as other memorabilia from her life as a professional musician.

9. Mustang Island State Park

Mustang Island State Park includes five miles of beachfront and offers visitors fishing, camping, beachcombing, swimming, surfing, birding, and other outdoor recreation options.

10. South Texas Institute for the Arts

The South Texas Institute for the Arts operates an educational facility, as well as an art museum, placing it high on the list for art lovers' visiting Corpus Christi.
