Inner Space Cavern Overview:
Located just north of Austin, Inner Space Cavern reveals relics from the Ice Age - bones of Saber Toothed Tigers, Mammoths and other Ice Age animals have been found in the cavern.
About Inner Space Cavern:
Inner Space Cavern is a limestone cavern located in Georgetown, Texas, just a short distance from Austin. The cavern was discovered in 1963 by a highway work crew drilling through the limestone. Upon exploration, Inner Space Cavern was found to have some of the most intricate stalagtite and stalagmite formations in the state. Addtionally, the remains of several prehistoric animals have been discovered at the site.
Inner Space Cavern Visitor Information:
Inner Space Cavern offers three tours - the Adventure Tour ($17.95/Adults, $9.95/Kids 4-12, Kids 3 & under are free), the Explorer Tour ($19.95/Adults, $11.95/Kids 4-12), and the Wild Cave Tour ($100/Ages 13 & up). Group rates are available for the Adventure and Wild Cave tours. Hours of operation are: Sept through May - Weekdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Weekends 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; June through August - Weekdays & Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Inner Space Cavern is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
