Texas Book Festival
Annual Event Allows Readers To See Favorite Authors in Person

By Danno Wise, About.com

One of the state’s most popular events, the Texas Book Festival is set to take place once again this November. Held at the State Capitol in Austin, as it is every year, the 2009 Festival will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 1.

One of the unique aspects of the Texas Book Festival is it is free and open to the public. Every session during the two-day event is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to show up early.

Among the authors in attendance this year are Buzz Aldrin, Margaret Atwood, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Taylor Branch, Sandra Brown, Oscar Casares, Blake Bailey and others.

Anyone interested in literature should make plans to attend this year's event.
