Things to Do in North Texas During Super Bowl Week

Plenty to see and do in addition to Super Bowl XLV

With Super Bowl XLV set to be held in North Texas, hundreds of thousands of visitors will be in the Dallas/Ft Worth area the first week of February. Although the game itself, which will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on Feb. 6, will be the main attraction, visitors looking to have a full vacation experience will find plenty of ways to spend their time in the days leading up to Super Bowl XLV.

1. Attend a Super Bowl Party

As North Texas gears up for Super Bowl XLV on February 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the region is in a "festive" mood. As is always the case in the week leading up to a Super Bowl, there will be plenty of Super Bowl parties in Arlington, Dallas and Ft. Worth in the week before the big game.

2. Dine Out in the Big D

Texas favorites such as chicken fried steak and barbecue are plentiful in Dallas. But, so are a variety of other cuisines. In fact, many visitors to Texas are surprised at the sophistication of the state's larger cities, including Dallas. Diners are certainly impressed with Dallas' vast array of fine dining establishments.

3. Take in the Dallas Boat Show

The Dallas Boat Show kicks off the first weekend of February. Running from February 4-6 and 9-13, the Dallas Boat Show features an impressive display of boats, accessories, personal watercraft and fishing tackle, as well as informative seminars.

4. Tour Cowboys Stadium

Home to the Dallas Cowboys, Cowboys Stadium also hosts a variety of other sporting and entertainment events. However, even when there isn't an event, visitors flock to Cowboys Stadium for tours.

5. Make a Toast at an Irish Pub

Dallas is home to some of the best Irish pubs in Texas. A visit to one of these pubs will transport you to jolly old Ireland without ever leaving the Lone Star State.

6. Visit a Museum

There is certainly no shortage of attractions in Dallas. Visitors to the 'Big D' will find the city also offers a variety of diverse, entertaining and informative museums.
