Galveston Island Entertainment

After over 100 years, the 1894 Opera House still hosts live events. However, Galveston has a plethora of other live entertainment options as well.
Dickens on the Strand
In a town known for its history, it only makes sense to ring in the holiday season with characters from Christmases past. Such is the case with Galveston, where the annual Dickens on the Strand event helps usher in the month of December and kicks off the holiday season.
Balinese Room
Galveston's historic Balinese Room has been restored and reopened! Located at the end of a 600-foot pier extending over the Gulf of Mexico, the Balinese is an elegant nightclub with a touch of nostalgia.

Dickens on the Strand
For more than three decades, characters from Charles Dickens’ novels have strolled Galveston’s historic Strand during December. Known as Dickens on the Strand, this holiday festival takes visitors back to the Victorian Era as street vendors with push carts work amongst carolers and street musicians, while children busy themselves at the Royal Menagerie Petting Zoo.
Pier 21 Theater
Located in the historic Strand district, the Pier 21 Theater is a restored historic theater which shows films depicting Galveston's past.
Galveston Feather Fest
Galveston's annual Feather Fest is set to coincide with the spring migration, giving birders an opportunity to view over 300 species as they make their way over the island.
Harvest Moon Regatta
Staged between Galveston and Port Aransas, the Harvest Moon Regatta is one of the largest port-to-port sailboat races in North America.
AIA Sandcastle Competition
