Shopping on the Strand
Developed as Galveston's commerce center in the late 1800s, the Strand has survived over 100 years to be reborn as an island shopping mecca.
Galveston's Historic 1894 Opera House
Not only did this historic opera house survive the 1900 hurricane, it is still flourishing and has even been designated the "The Official Opera House of Texas." Today, performances range from Willie Nelson to Red, White, & Tuna to Fiddler on the Roof.
The Strand Theatre
Housed in the 1871 Opperman building, the Strand Theatre has hosted theatrical productions since 1977.

Galveston Feather Fest
Galveston's annual Feather Fest is set to coincide with the spring migration, giving birders an opportunity to view over 300 species as they make their way over the island.
Harvest Moon Regatta
