Valley's Oldest Music Festival Kicks Off March Events

March 5-8, Borderfest 2009 will be underway in the Texas border town of Hidalgo. An annual event for over three decades, Borderfest is the oldest cultural art and music festival in the Rio Grande Valley.

This year's Borderfest theme is Jamaica ya Happy!. As usual, several nationally-recognized musical performers are set to take the stage at Borderfest.

Gate admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10 on Thursday and Friday, and $8 for adults and $5 for children on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day Superpass is only $12 when purchased in advance.
