Rockport Overview:

Rockport History:
Rockport is the county seat of Aransas County, which was founded in 1871. The town of Rockport actually predates the county, having been founded in 1867. The site of current day Rockport, along with the rest of the Coastal Bend region, had been subject to Spanish exploration since the early 1500s. Today, Rockport has a thriving tourism industry, centered on art, eco-tourism and outdoor recreation.
