Fredericksburg Overview:
One of the most popular small towns in Texas, Fredericksburg offers visitors quaint shopping and fine dining in a relaxing Hill Country atmosphere.
Fredericksburg History:
Fredericksburg was founded in 1846 and was named after Prince Frederick of Prussia. Fredericksburg was populated primarily by German immigrants. Gillespie County, which includes Fredericksburg, voted against succession prior to the Civil War and was part of the pro-Union resistance during the Civil War.
