Alamo Bowl
2008 Edition to Feature Missouri and Northwestern

By , About.com Guide

The annual Alamo Bowl is one of the most anticipated college football games in Texas every year. However, the 2008 version promises to draw a little extra attention, as it features former Texas high school quarterback Chase Daniel and his Missouri Tigers taking on the surprising Northwestern Wildcats.

Although his rise to national prominence was done at a school outside the Lone Star State, Texas football fans still appreciate the fact Daniel, as well as several of his Missouri teammates, hail from Texas. So, expect a big crowd of Texans in addition to the contingents traveling with their teams.

Of course, those attending the game will find plenty of entertainment options around the Alamo City before and after the game. In fact, since the game is held on Dec. 29, it makes good sense to plan on spending New Year’s in San Antonio if you’re attending the game.
