South Padre Island Storm Swell Surfers

South Padre Island surfers know anytime a tropical storm system is in the Gulf of Mexico, surf conditions will be epic in the Brazos Santiago Pass and Dolphin Cove at the southern end of the island. The presence of Hurricane Ike provided just such conditions. And, although this is definitely a 'surf at your own risk' proposition, it is quite a spectacle for onlookers.
