Thanksgiving Weekend Football Action Abounds in Texas

By , About.com Guide

As Thanksgiving draws near, football is on the mind of many Texans. Of course, the big draw will be the Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving Day tilt in Dallas. This year, it's the Oakland Raiders visiting Cowboy Stadium on T-day.

Later that evening, as most folks are getting ready to eat leftover turkey, the University of Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies will square off in College Station for their annual Thanksgiving Day brawl. On Black Friday, thousands of Texans afflicted with Friday night fever will file into stadiums across the state to witness round three of the state high school football playoffs.

Once Saturday dawns, the high school playoffs will resume and a number of Texas college football teams will be in action as well. On Sunday, the Houston Texans will be hosting the the Indianapolis Colts at Reliant Stadium, giving Texas football fans a full 4 days of football over Thanksgiving Day weekend. Any way you slice it, football fans in Texas will have plenty to be thankful for over Thanksgiving weekend.
