2005 Texas Vacation Ideas

The New Year Offers An Excellent Opportunity for a Texas Vacation

By Danno Wise, About.com

With New Year’s right around the corner, there are a number of things Texas visitors should add to their list of resolutions. For instance, taking in the 2005 Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day would be a great way to start the new year. Although not everyone will be able to attend Dallas’ New Year’s Day football game, there are a number of other events and attractions that can be visited throughout the year.

Texas is a state steeped in history and offers visitors a number of landmarks and historic sites to visit. Among the most popular are the Alamo, Port Isabel Lighthouse, and San Jacinto Monument.

World-class attractions can also be found across Texas. Renowned zoos, museums, and theme parks can be found in major Texas cities, as well as small towns across the state.

Additionally, events such as Galveston’s Mardi Gras, Austin’s Austin City Limits Music Festival, and a variety of other festivals held across the state offer visitors fun and excitement throughout the year. In short, a visit to Texas in 2005 can offer fun for the whole family.
